Abstract Top‐down mass spectrometry (TD‐MS) provides unique information on compositions, structures, and functions of proteins or protein complexes has been recognized as a powerful approach to complement conventional tools in analysis. Employing microfluidic chips TD‐MS workflows offers advantages including flexible integration automation multiple sample treatment functions, lowered consumption, compatibility with high‐sensitive ionization higher throughput. Here we reviewed the reported microchips developed for aspects design ionization, separation mixing modules, fabrication approaches; also attempted summarize considerations that may inspire development better performance wider applications.
